Mothers of Multiples scrappages

I've been busy creating and editing my twins club newsletter and creating scrap pages as we don't have a historian this year(yet - I'm hoping I'll get someone else hooked on digiscrapping) and I'm getting lots of pictures to put in the newsletter. I'm very proud of my first newsletter, we'll see how our members like it. It was quite the effort to get all the photos, then sort through and make categories and then scrap what went together and then make one hodge-podge. I've never scrapped so many pictures before on a single layout, now I'll need to learn how to add a few elements here & there. Many thanks to Yin Designs who had some great templates with lots of photos on her blog.

Out in the Rain - redo

If you're a regular reader, first you're probably asking "what the heck happened to her?" and second "didn't I just see those pictures?". As to what happened to me - I think the answer is three year old twins - they are just awake longer than ever and just need me, and then my obligations to my twins club are big this time of year. For the rest of the month I'll be busy putting together my first issue of the twins club newsletter. It fun to do some newsletter design, but its hard because the info from all the club members just trickles in - so nothing is "done" until I send it out. We don't have a historian this year so I'm scrapping for the club too. At least with that I'm doing double duty - once I get the page scrapped I'm just going to include it in the newsletter.

And yes, you did just see these pictures, and as much I like the original LO, I decided I wanted to include the 2nd picture and so I went back and rescrapped. Since the background paper is lighter I added a border of glitter to the acrylic letters so they would stand off the page a little more.

"Mercy Corps exists to alleviate suffering, poverty and oppression by helping people build secure, productive and just communities.

Mercy Corps works amid disasters, conflicts, chronic poverty and instability to unleash the potential of people who can win against nearly impossible odds. Since 1979, Mercy Corps has provided $1.5 billion in assistance to people in 106 nations. Supported by headquarters offices in North America and Europe, the agency's unified global programs employ 3,500 staff worldwide and reach nearly 16.4 million people in more than 35 countries.

Our strategy is to work in countries in transition, where communities are recovering from disaster, conflict or economic collapse. Our experience demonstrates that turmoil and tragedy often create opportunities for lasting, positive change. We add our greatest value on the ground by supporting those pockets of positive change with community-led and market-driven action."

Included in this kit are: 14 patterned papers, 4 coordinating solid papers, 3 pebble brads, 4 folded ribbon frames, 4 journaling labels, 3 moth stickers (with and without shadows), 1 birdhouse, 6 coordinating crepe paper bows, 4 crepe flowers, 1 shabby chic frame, 1 bead branch (shadow separate), 1 leaf element (shadow separate), 1 nest (shoadow separate), 2 floral note papers, 1 x 12 inch paper tear, 1 dandelion sticker, 1 shabby chic tray, 4 word art brushes, (png & abr), 4 word art stickers (live with wild abandon, leap of fatih, spread your wings and fly, take the plunge), 5 coordinating crepe paper wraps, 1 a-z stamp alpha (mixed upper and lower case), 0-9, and 1 12x12 inch template by Janet Phillips. Out in the Rain

I've had quite the struggle this week to find time for my computer. My girls are really not wanting to nap and we've been going to the pool for a few hours most days so in addition to not getting much "me" time during the day, I'm also just exhausted by the time we get them in bed that I'm ready to fall into my own. My darling husband has them at Home Depot this morning for the kid's workshop so I spending the time on the computer instead of cleaning my house which really needs to be done as well.

A very straight forward LO to get the creating flowing again. I'm trying to use things from my April prize at the digichick - $10 per designer doesn't go as far as one might think, and its hard for me to buy something without knowing specifically what I might use it for, so I tried to stick with basics. I was reading an interview with one of the Treat Of The Month at Sweet Shoppe Designs and she said she almost always does a LO and then finds a picture to go with it - maybe someday I'll be so far ahead that I can do that. I think I've scrapped 4 pictures from this May though and there are Easters and Birthdays waiting to be done.

I said I wasn't going to the Benevolent Boutique charity kits this month, but then Crystal sent out the color palette and the themes and I couldn't help myself. Plus I want to work on a kit for myself AND I've gotten started on the newsletter which is going to eat up a lot of time. I'm hoping that I get just one page scrapped each week now that I've committed to these other things.

I'd also like to mention a great blog I found by way of a comment on Spring Swing. Ann goes by "the3chickens" and not only does she create amazing LOs, but she has a great list of freebies each day and does a lot of sale shopping to point out the great deals out there.
