2010 Summertime

It has been FOREVER since I've posted two pages in one day - although this barely counts as one set was 95% done and I used a template for this set - but it feels good to have some more pages done and these happy photos scrapped for their books.

Anticipation │ A view before Birth │ 2004, 2005

So much for my goal of getting something posted here once a week.

I really had good intentions this year to try and get more done on the digital scrapping front, and my good intentions will continue.

This is a redo of some of the only hybrid pages I did when I first started their baby books and which prompted me to make the leap to digital. I got one set of the pages done and then never got the other scrapped (printed and cut, all it needed was to be put together and it never got done).

So here are my sweet babies during their 38 week journey in my tummy. The sonographer was really sweet about getting us pictures until the very last US when there was just no room left in there for you to wiggle about and for her (Lisa was her name) to do more than get the necessary measurements.

Flergs was one of the first designers I found when I started my digi-scrapping journey and I love her stuff still 3 years later. She is a very talented designer - her flowers are always my favorites.

2009 I Hope You Dance

This looks SO straightforward...I wish I could say I whipped this out in a matter of minutes, but oh no, it took me several hours. But it's done and it's done in one day which is so important to me right now. I actually ran an action on the photos which is something I rarely do, but felt it went with the theme and the soft colors of the paper.

MoM LOs

I've had these ready since the end of September and here it is time to start on the next newsletter and I'm only finding time to post these. I haven't made an extra second to even work on LOs for me.

Now Where's That Mouse?

I've had these photos in my stack of photos to scrap for a long time - I started a LO yesterday and got one finished, but wasn't happy so I threw it all away today and started over. I'm happier with the second LO, but it could still use a little something. I realize that I don't have much yellow in my digistash - and much less yellow with reds, blues & greens. I loved these little jumpers on the girls and they were in a stage where they would wear a hat pretty much all day inside - it didn't last long though, by the time we were spending more time outdoors they didn't want one anymore.

I tried to stick with one kit - so some recoloring and blending to make some of the colors pop just a bit more. Like I said - it still doesn't feel "right", but I'm still trying to ramp up my scrapping mojo again. I haven't been keeping up with all the blogs & freebies like I was before, and heavens knows I haven't taken a minute to think about creating a new kit.

Sitting Pretty

Whew - it feels like forever since I've scrapped - which isn't true - as I've been scrapping for my MoM club, but it doesn't feel the same because it isn't my kiddos smiling out of the page at me.

This one took a bit longer of course trying to get back in the swing of things - I got stuck trying to add a title and finally decided that maybe it just didn't need one after all.

This photo is just one of those sweet ones that makes me smile every time it comes up on my screen saver - the girls had just learned to sit without toppling over, and they looked so adorable in their little blue jeans. I finally used this kit I bought in April, but of course had to fiddle with it and deconstruct some of the bottom cluster, so some creative erasing and then using parts & pieces for the frame.

All I Dreamed Of

This is a redo from paper to digital - another one of those LOs where I got one paper one scrapped and got all the pieces cut to do the second LO and just never got the second one done.

In addition to my MoM newsletter duties, I've also decided to try and teach some (so far 14 have joined our little group) of our mom's of multiples how to digital scrapbook. So this page is also serving as the first "lesson" of that process. I'm trying to lead the whole process on-line cause it's hard to get together without kids and with computers, but hopefully I'll be able to do some hands on stuff too.

I was finally able to scan in some ribbons, extract them and have them keep their translucence (sp?). Not something I want to do a lot of, but I did want the ribbon to be similar to the ones that I had on the original LO.

HERE is the template

I won't be around much the rest of the month - we're close to halfway so it's time to start the newsletter and my internet browser keeps crashing every 5 minutes, so its not a lot of fun to be on-line and its practically impossible to get anything done. If I do have any spare time I'll be working on things for the OK, Just a Few Boys kit.

More Mother's of Multiples - July

So this is what I've been busy with for the last two weeks. My next issue of the newsletter is just a few minutes away from being ready to publish and I've gotten my LOs complete. I thank God that I found Yin from Yin Design/Simply Yin, her templates have been a huge time saver for me - the hardest part is figuring out which one to slightly modify to make it work for the number of photos I have - but I would be sunk trying to fit all these photos in the newsletter without her marvelous talent.

I really appreciate all the wonderful comments people left for me on "No Boys, Just Girls". It was definitely the most positive response I've received so far. It has gotten me inspired to create "Ok, Just Some Boys" add-on which I'll start working on when the girls & I get back from a mini-trip back to my parents this week. I have a few ideas, but I'm always open to more suggestions. I've gotten 40 comments so far, and 1750 hits and 1000 people downloaded the elements, and about 50 fewer for the paper packs. That's always interesting to see, I guess I'm a numbers person as an engineer, but I'm always curious why people downloaded elements and not papers, I'm much more a paper person myself. Now I'm anxious to see some layouts people have created. There's a little Thank You below all these LOs.

I got my husband one of those coffee mugs you can change the insert on and I love it, so much that I just bought one for myself this weekend and I don't drink coffee. I'll probably make a scrap page just like this mug insert (why didn't I save the psd file????), as I think it turned out pretty cute. All the items are from my two latest kits which you can find on the left sidebar under My Scraps. The kits are "No Boys, Just Girls" and "Spring Swing".

Pick up the mug inserts HERE.

Easy as 1-2-3

This one has been festering for a while. I really wanted to record how easy it was to train the girls - getting them to give up their little potties (which we finally did last week after 10 months) was WAY harder than having them be potty trained at 26 months. So while I'm moving this out of my "in progress" file, I don't know that it s done because I didn't journal very much. These pictures might find their way back again when I finally find the right inspiration for what should be two 4x6 horizontals & 1 4x6 vertical photo - and lots of journaling.

And even I had to look more than once to make sure I didn't scrap the same girl twice - they look SO much alike in these photos.

All American Girls

I got some great photos of the girls this morning all ready for the parade - our mother's of multiples club participated and a group of us walked the route together to promote our club. It was HOT, but the girls were troopers during our 3 hour ordeal.

I think this is the first time I have scrapped photos on the same day they were taken and it hasn't even been 12 hours since I took the photo. Using the template made it pretty easy, but can you believe I still spent about 3 hours on this? I think there were numerous interruptions, but still...

The Perfect Pair

I've found the perfect song to scrapbook to - Bon Jovi's (You Want To) Make a Memory. My husband has this aptitude of turning to HDMusic and finding some Bon Jovi special and first it was Jon's duet with Sugarland and now his duet with Leanne Rhimes that he likes, but I like everything about Make a Memory. ok, enough with the side-bar.

A few weeks ago (or possibly a month) I mentioned Ann from The 3 Chickens found me and I'm so glad she did. Her blog is so fun to read and its such a time saver for finding the best freebies & sales. She posted this wonderful template and I just took these fab photos of the girls - so I had to make them work together.

I got to use some of the things I picked from from my April win over at the Digi-Chick. Can you believe I just finally finished my shopping spree? Now I need to go purge my freebies folder cause I'm just getting too much stuff to remember and I'll need the extra memory sooner than later it seems.

My computer is really dragging these days - don't know if I need to increase RAM or video memory or both - as long as I don't need a new computer - DH would probably flip at that thought. I wish one of us was more computer geekish - I don't know how much I trust those guys at Circuit City or Best Buy.

I'm hoping to work on my new kit soon, so no freebies for a little bit yet. If you haven't picked up a July desktop yet, the one from Shabby Princess is too adorable to pass up.

Mothers of Multiples scrappages

I've been busy creating and editing my twins club newsletter and creating scrap pages as we don't have a historian this year(yet - I'm hoping I'll get someone else hooked on digiscrapping) and I'm getting lots of pictures to put in the newsletter. I'm very proud of my first newsletter, we'll see how our members like it. It was quite the effort to get all the photos, then sort through and make categories and then scrap what went together and then make one hodge-podge. I've never scrapped so many pictures before on a single layout, now I'll need to learn how to add a few elements here & there. Many thanks to Yin Designs who had some great templates with lots of photos on her blog.
